How my sketches typically look like. On the left is the extremely rough (slightly bigger than) thumbnail sketched out quickly in my sketchbook, and shadows blocked out digitally. When I get an idea I try to sketch it out as fast as I can to capture the ‘energy’ of that visual image. It’s kinda like a one-line description of a story visualized in a single image. Unfortunately this also means the sketch will turn out really amorphous, blobby and chicken-scratchey, and possibly something only I can understand XD The one of the right is a re-worked sketch, drawn digitally over the first rough. This is where I’ll start figuring out (roughly XD) the details in the scene - the subject’s outfit, the objects that directly interacts with her, the background/foreground etc.
